Whether it’s the start of your season, a player’s birthday, or a team get-together, baseball goodie bag ideas are always something you should have in the back of your mind (and maybe in an Amazon wishlist).
One of my favorite traditions every season is when the moms get together and brainstorm state baseball goodie bag ideas for the boys. For our team, these are the bags that we present to the team the night before their state championship.
These baseball gift bags are a way to celebrate a season’s worth of hard work, and let the kids unwind and have a little fun.
There really aren’t any rules when it comes to filling the state bags, and I always love seeing what the other moms come up with each year.
The problem is, I think our team really enjoys this, because each year we just keep topping the year prior. I honestly have no clue what we’re going to do this next year – but I’m sure we’ll think of something!

Baseball Goodie Bag Ideas

Personalized Cinch Backpacks
My contribution to the team was personalized cinch backpacks that had the team logo, and the player’s name and number. We used these as the actual bags that we filled up with goodies, and then my thought behind them was the boys would be able to keep it as something they could use moving forward.
The first year we tried using gift bags and we ran into two problems right off the bat:
- They didn’t hold everything
- The handles ended up breaking almost immediately
So year two, we used buckets, I’m forgetting what we did another year – maybe we did the gift bags two years in a row? And this past season – drawstring bags. I loved this idea because they could then turn around and use the bags and not just throw it away or lose it (hopefully).
I ordered ours from LogoPro in the Quad Cities and they turned out SO WELL, but you can also order customized ones like these on Etsy that I love.
Personalized Bats or Baseballs
One of the other baseball moms, Lisa, bought the boys personalized little wooden bats. These were SO CUTE (I mean so cool, sorry boys) and definitely a hit.
In years past, we’ve also done personalized baseballs with their name on them, or even blank baseballs and let the boys go around signing each other’s baseball so everyone walks away with a signed baseball with signatures from the entire team.
These even make great gifts for the coaches. If the cost is too high per bat, consider little custom baseball or bat keychains like linked below.
Snacks
Snacks, snacks, snacks, snacks, snacks, snacks… errbody!
It’s not officially a goodie bag until you fill it with treats. These can come in any form but some examples we used this past year and in years past include:
- Gatorade
- Beef jerky (you can get a pack of 20 on Amazon)
- Big League Chew
- Candy
- Logo cookies
- Popcorn
- Sunflower Seeds (I love ordering these variety packs on Amazon)
- Granola Bars
- Gatorade chews
Shirts or Baseball Hats
Getting team t-shirts with their name, jersey number, organization logo, or even their nickname or funny baseball sayings are always a hit.
This year, two of our Team Moms Diana and Meghan went in on new hats for the boys. It was so fun seeing them conga (yes, they conga’d) around the party room in their new hats, hyped up on all the sugar, ready for game day.
Cooling Towels
Another contribution is personalized, or team-logo cooling rags. I ordered our custom team logo towels from LogoPro if you live in the Quad Cities, Otherwise you can find some other options on Amazon and Etsy.
Personalized Baseball Cards
Not every mom opted to do personalized baseball cards this year, but most of the moms decided to contribute personalized baseball cards for their own player and add it to the state bags.
We ordered through Topps – and you can pick multiple different layouts, photos, and customize the stats and wording on the back.
If you’re not wanting to do personalized baseball cards, you can buy multi-packs of regular baseball cards on Amazon and put a pack in each bag.
Magnets and Stickers
Personalized or just general baseball magnets and stickers are always great to throw in. I ordered these stickers from Amazon to throw in Coop’s birthday party goodie bags this year.
Eye Black
No state bag is complete without eye black (or eye red) – funny story: one season, Cooper got hit with the ball while rounding the bases {time out – he’s been hit by the ball FAR TOO MANY TIMES while rounding the bases) but as he was coming around second after being hit (it didn’t slow him down) he had red marks streaming down his face and I gasped, jumped up, and took off running for the dugout, thinking he was bleeding from being hit. Nope. It was eye back, er, eye red that got smudged. He was fine.
You can get the sticks of eye black that are like chapstick tubes, or even the eye black stickers. Or both!
Sports Bracelets
Another fun thing to throw in are those rubber sports bracelets. You can get just general baseball themed bracelets (like the seams), or ones with motivational sayings.
Team Photo
The same mom who organized the personalized baseball bats also organized a team photo, and it was freaking adorable (I mean cool, sorry again, boys). She was able to take multiple photos throughout the season and put them together in a collage that created the outline of a baseball player.
She them framed each photo, and that’s what the boys passed around and signed this year, as well as giving a larger size to each coach and having the boys sign theirs, too.
Total heart warmer moment and I like to think the boys really understood how touching it was and the memories that they made will last a lifetime.
