17 Best Lacrosse Coach Gift Ideas

If your child has played lacrosse for a while now, you know that it takes a special person to be a youth lacrosse coach.

Only a very patient and dedicated person would apply to a job where the responsibilities include:

  • Working long hours in the evenings and weekends
  • Receiving a small stipend, if lucky
  • Managing 15-20+ children who run around with sticks in their hands?

But that dedication is what defines a great lacrosse coach. So the best thing you can do for this person is to give him a meaningful gift after a long season. A thoughtful coach gift a small token of appreciation for all the hard work and patience that he or she has given to your child’s team. While you may find it difficult to come up with unique lacrosse coach gift ideas, I have a few that I can share with you. Because finding a special lacrosse coach gift shouldn’t be daunting.

What makes a great lacrosse coach gift?

Every coach is unique, and the gift you choose for him should reflect his individuality. Whether you just met this coach at the beginning of the season or he’s a veteran with the team, here are a few categories of gifts ideas that any lacrosse coach will appreciate.

Practical Lacrosse Coach Gift Ideas (for the job)

  1. Coach’s clipboard
  2. Coach’s organizer
  3. Cones
  4. Lacrosse balls

Have you ever watched your child’s lacrosse coach walk from his car to the field? He’s likely carrying a regular stick, a goalie stick, a bucket of balls, clipboard, and whistle. And that’s probably not all. By the end of practice, he’s lost a handful of lacrosse balls due to errant shots on goals. A cone or two is stepped on and cracked, and he can’t find the pen to his dry erase clipboard. He’s going to buy these items anyway, so why not just go ahead and gift them to him?

Sentimental Lacrosse Coach Gift Ideas

  1. Signed Picture Frame
  2. Coach Sign or Plaque
  3. Engraved Lacrosse Ball
  4. Lacrosse Necklace

Sometimes your child’s team has an amazing season and you want to memorialize that winning team with a personalized gift. A signed picture frame is perfect because it captures the faces (and handwriting!) of the kids when they were that age. For female coaches, a necklace like this one is a thoughtful gift.

Practical Lacrosse Coach Gift Ideas (off the job)

  1. Personalized Tumbler
  2. Key Chain
  3. Lacrosse stick bottle opener

If he’s a seasoned coach, he may already have plenty of coach gifts related to lacrosse. However, gifts that enhance his life outside of coaching are just as useful and thoughtful. We gifted our son’s lacrosse coach this bottle opener last year after a Father’s Day tournament and he loved it!

Funny Lacrosse Coach Gift Ideas

  1. Coach Bobblehead Trophy
  2. Lacrosse Coach Caricature Mug

If you know your coach well and know he has a sense of humor, the bobblehead trophy and the caricature mug are great gifts for the lacrosse coach who doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Honorable Mentions

  1. Lacrosse shaped Pasta
  2. Chocolate / lollipop lacrosse stick molds
  3. His/ her favorite candy or snack
  4. Gift card- Amazon, Target, favorite restaurant

And sometimes, the reality is that you have no time to look for a gift for your child’s lacrosse coach before you have to give it to him. Or you don’t know him that well and a personalized bobblehead may not go over well. Whatever the case is, gift cards to Amazon, Target or a favorite local restaurant are always well received. If he or she is a foodie and likes to cook, I love this lacrosse stick shaped pasta or the lacrosse chocolate molds.

No Coach Gift is Unappreciated

However you choose to celebrate your child’s lacrosse coach, he or she will definitely appreciate the kind gesture from the team. It’s not easy managing all those kids running around with sticks in their hands. But this patience, dedication and love for the sport is what makes a great lacrosse coach and an even better mentor in your child’s journey through lacrosse and life.
